Our Story
Community Christian Fellowship began in 1982 as a breakfast club … a non-denominational, non-traditional church, with our body life and our personal lives centered on the Person of Jesus Christ. We quickly grew into a church, taking new approaches to share Christ with our community and watching as many people came to know Him.
Over the early years, CCF met in a variety of rented facilities ranging from a strip mall to a school. Since 1989, the church has met in a local auditorium that has now been renovated to become an elite performing arts center in downtown Edmonds.
Our church is home to approximately 250 families. We are a cross-generational church with average worship service attendance of 300. There are about 120 students in the youth group as well as about 130 kids involved in the early childhood and elementary-age children’s ministry. CCF feels like family for singles or for married couples, and for both younger and older people.
In 2003, we called our fourth senior pastor, Brian Boone, into the life of our church. Brian and his family come from Littleton, Colorado, and Brian is a graduate of Denver Seminary.
CCF is a place for true community. People enjoy spending time with one another and our church calendar is punctuated with many special events that help foster a sense of community – events such as picnics, movie nights, family camp, retreats for all ages, a children’s worship project at Christmas, and other seasonal events.
CCF owns a 13,000 square foot building called the Ministry Center. This facility is the location for children’s and student ministries on Sunday, and for all church events, meetings and classes during the week.
The Ministry Center is adjacent to the Edmonds Center for the Arts, which houses the auditorium where we hold our worship services on Sunday. In a story only God could write, the church signed a 25-year lease agreement with the city of Edmonds to use the renovated ECA on Sundays and major holidays. Most people say that a partnership between a city and a church is unheard of these days, but for us it confirms that God has placed us at the heart of Edmonds and regularly around the people we love and with whom we want to share Christ’s love!
